You must have come across the word "Hygge" in the past year or so and I am sure you must have wondered - what exactly does that mean and why am I mentioning this now! I ended up writing this blog post during a cold winter night and all I wanted to write about was making our home warm and inviting and when you do look up what Hygge means - it's exactly that! Hygge pronounced as "hoo-gah" is a Norwegian and Danish word for a mood of coziness and comfortable conviviality with feelings of wellness and contentment.
Most of us will agree that our living rooms lack a bit of warmth and comfort and are always left a bit cold if they are not styled the right way. One way of adding that fuzzy warm feeling is by adding candles in your living space. Now that it's winter in Australia, candles are the perfect way to bring in that additional warmth to your home.
Alot of us love candles and decorating with candles is something that has been in vogue for a long time now. Scented candles are even more popular now a days and I must confess I do shop around for different types of candles and diffusers all the time!
LVB Tip - Remember to place your scented candle someplace open so it mixes in with fresh air time and again. Bathrooms, bedrooms and living rooms place one everywhere! Having candles in your study, fireplace mantle or book shelves are some other options that you can explore.
I came across some of the most beautiful candles diffusers while window shopping and it was one that used flowers. So it's not just the scent but it's also visually appealing that fits really well as a decor element in your living spaces. The aroma is just divine and I must say they are the best candles I have ever come across. They’re also some of my favorite candles to give as gifts because their French-inspired and they fit the La Villa Blanche theme perfectly!
LVB Tip - the trick to selecting the right combination of candles and diffusers is pick a candle first and see if that aroma works well. Then buy the diffuser separate and try it all by itself. Experiment and combine till you get it right! Floral scents are the best way to go!
