4 Ways to bring French Country Style into your Home

The question is, how do you add that timeless, classic and cosy French style to your home? And what are those 4 pieces of decor that can bring in a touch of French country style into ta maison (your home)? Are you curious to find out?

My favourite type of decor is a blend of Parisienne flair and country living put together. So you will be seeing a lot of French influences in the way I style my home and choose my home decor over time.

Silver or Gold essentials – Having hints of gold or silver in your furniture or décor does shout out French décor in every way! Having an ornate picture frame or mirror, your chandelier with a gold or brass finish or probably a gold plated vase or an antique candle stand – these subtle changes can spell out French décor and make your room look even more beautiful.

Rugs – A distressed rug is an awesome addition if you want to add a French décor feel to your home. Rugs have been always a very traditional way of decorating homes and they add a fresh dimension, much needed colour and texture to you room. You can even place a runner instead of an entire rug and still get away with it, if you feel a rug is too much for your room, especially if the floor space is less.

Country Vase – A simple vase to keep your fresh flowers, add that much needed country look and feel to your living room or dining room. I prefer the porcelain white ones rather than the enamel pitchers, easy to clean and I love how pristine it looks on my kitchen island. The enamel ones are not so bad either, they have a chipped finish and do look more French country chic. It’s up to you to choose; both have their own distinctive charm and I wish I could keep buying different ones! If I had my way then my home would be filled with one too many of them!

Chandeliers - Antique crystal chandeliers are a must, they are my absolute favourite piece of decor. Have been searching for the perfect chandelier for some time now, haven’t found it as yet. But when I do, will most definitely flaunt it! It's an elegant and most beautiful piece of decor that adds a distinctive charm to your living space! If you want to find out more details about them then you should definitely read my previous post on chandeliers!
