4 Summer Styling Ideas

Summer down under is now officially over, however for the rest of the world summer is just here. So I would like to share with all of you on how I have welcomed the warm summer breeze into my lovely home last season. Its time for you to get rid off the cosy wintery coats and put on your summer wear!

So what does it mean when you have the bright sunshine and warm summer breeze floating by? How do you spruce up your home to suit the seasonal changes?

Here are some LVB recommendations for those welcoming summer in -

1. LIVING OUTDOORS

Update your alfresco and get ready for moving into the outdoors. Tidy up your living room and open up your bifold or windows! As you spruce up your living room don't forget to add that oomph to your alfresco decor! I really enjoy reading my novels by snuggling up on my couch in the alfresco!

LVB Tip: Add textures and patterns to your cushions this summer! Mix them up - timber, rattan, velvet, brass metal and mirrors.

2. WARM COLOURS ALL THE WAY

Get the ambience going with sweet twinkly lights! Freshen it up with outdoor plants and colours like terracotta, burnt orange, mustards, baby blues, soft greens as well as various tones of neutrals.

LVB Tip: Bring some of your cute pots indoors and liven up your kitchen or living room with some greenery.

3. HALLWAY MAKEOVER

Spruce up your entryway with flowers or a wreath, lay down a hallway runner and add a potted plant. I would rather spend some time choosing the right rug as that is an important element and pulls the entire space together.

LVB Tip: Make sure you have the right colour tones going for you in this space as its an introduction to your home.

4. TRANSFORMING THE STUDY ROOM

Organise and tidy up your desk, library and let the summer light in. Set up a mood board or some wall art that can add much needed colours in your room. My study room doubles as a reading room where I can step out into my backyard and alfresco.

LVB Tip: Summer is the best time to take out time for yourself and to get some writing, reading or even meditation done. Make your study a space to slow down, breathe and relax.

Hope most of you enjoy the warmth of the summer sun while Melbourne enjoys the last rays of sunshine. Coming up soon one more exciting project and blog on the way!
